Data Transformation

The Macannie Data Transformer (MDT) is a process, toolset and mindset designed to ingest varied types
of data from a wide variety of sources. Our MDT approach allows our engineering teams to quickly
create a process to transform data into industry standard formats and enable automation (such as FHIR
and other emerging health data standards). Our approach can implement complex validation requirements,
assess data quality, and transform and integrate large data storage.
To make use of big data, and provide our clients with data analytic products, data quality and a
consistent data format are essential. Typically, data from varied sources is maintained in a wide
range of formats. Ingesting data from varied sources is a challenge. It can be time consuming and
require significant manual effort.
Macannie has developed a Data Transformation platform using open source tools, which can eliminate
time-consuming data transformation tasks and provide an easy, automated data conversion and data
integration tool set. Our data transformer is fully scalable, capable of being applied to small,
medium, and enterprise level data sets, quickly and efficiently.
Digital Services Transformation

Digital transformation is a journey, tailored to each client's current state and what they want to
achieve. As with everything Macannie does, our approach starts with the business need. We then make
recommendations for new and emerging technology, focusing on Open Source first.
Human Centered-Design

As healthcare has always been considered vital for the well-being and safety of people, Macannie is
dedicated to instilling Human-Centered Design (HCD) to truly engage with and solve our customer's
challenges throughout the IT development and support lifecycle.
Our HCD Team has been successfully helped customers such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services (CMS) and other federal health agencies redesign and modernize critical healthcare systems.
Macannie's HCD approach has two differentiators: first is our All-Team approach. In addition to the
HCD team leading the research and design effort, all development and support team members are
instilled with HCD principles. We understand that HCD should be an integral and critical part of the
IT development and support lifecycle and will continue to drive the performance of business systems.

AI / ML and RPA Transformation

Macannie uses techniques, strategies, and tools to take advantage of Artificial Intelligence (AI),
Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and deep learning (DL) to support healthcare
and public health programs. Our projects give the right set of tools to our clients, allowing them to
make informed medical or business decisions quickly, with the goal of ultimately improving patient
outcomes. Our analytic projects provide insight into healthcare providers, cost containment, and

Macannie's business process automation team, led by architects and senior engineers, empowers our
customers with various Robotics Process Automation (RPA) tools, such as Pega, or, open-sources
technologies for custom-designed and developed case management workflows,to automate business
transactions and significantly improves business performance and results.
Infrastructure Transformation

IT infrastructure empowers data centers and private or public clouds. Macannie works with our clients
to transform and modernize their infrastructure; creating strategies, roadmaps, and technology
recommendations. Our approach includes:
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Provision and management of infrastructure through machine-readable
definition files, managing, and provisioning computer data centers through machine-readable definition
files.
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Addresses Infrastructure and Operations in the same way we
approach software engineering - by focusing on automation and adopting new approaches to take a
holistic approach to support and improve a system.
Immutable Infrastructure: Establish VM/servers with a common image, which does not need to be modified
after deployment. When a device needs to be replaced or updated, a new VM built from a common image
can take its place.
